They want us to shelter in place, so here's the perfect playlist to do just that. They want us to shelter in place, so here's the perfect playlist to do just that. Mike Bills Entertainment Stock

Being one of the top wedding DJs in charleston, I can assure you that my entire focus is always on the music.  Music is all that I specialize in and if you follow me on Twitter, you'll see me writing and tweeting about all things music. It's what true professional wedding DJs do. Music is one of the most powerful forces that we have in our lives that not only evokes a wide range of emotions, but also brings us together. After driving down East Bay Street in Charleston late on a Friday, it began to finally set in what exactly was happening to us as a city with the Coronavirus crisis that is gripping the country. Truth be told, no one knows how this is going to end for us. While we are stuck inside in quarantine we might as well try to make the most of the situation. For me personally, I am trying to heed the advice from our governing officials to maintain that social distancing, but you know what? This is going to get old really fast.  The inspiration for this post came at the expense of a quarantine playlist published by Rolling Stone on their website.  Their playlist centered around being by yourself, so I figured I would make mine a little more interesting by allowing a couple to ride out the quarantine together.

DISCLAIMER. I'm not a doctor and do not claim to have any medical credentials, but as I stated up above that it's best to adhere to the requests of our state and local governments and continue to practice social distancing. Please make sure that before you listen to this playlist that you amd anyone around you is free of the known COVID19 symptoms. If you should be experiencing any symptoms, please seek medical attention. For a look at Rolling Stone's "self quarantine" playlist, click on the link. Trust me, you probably don't want to listen to this playlist by yourself. :)

Download This Playlist From Charleston Wedding DJ Mike Bills On Spotify
If you are a fan of Spotify and you've got to have a playlist for everything, you'll want to head over to my Spotify profile and download this for "fun" after the Coronavirus crisis is over.  Just click over to Spotify and search for DJ Mike Bills. While you are there, look over all my selections for some of the best wedding playlists too.

"Darling Nikki" | Prince
You'll find this song on the Purple Rain album. It's no surprise that due to it's overtly sexual lyrics, the song was not released as a single. The Foo Fighters would do an excellent cover of the song in 2003, and Rihanna would sing the song on her tour in 2011.

"Need You Tonight" | INXS
INXS without the late Michael Hutchence has never been something I've ever given to my ears.  "Need You Tonight" can be found on of my favorite records (and most successful) of the 80s released by INXS.  Released in the fall of 1987 "Need You TonighT" was the first single to be released off the record and would make it all the way to Number 1 on the Hot 100.

"Pony" | Ginuwine
"Pony" is actually a song that might show up on a lot of wedding playlists that might be thrown on in the last hour after the kids and grandparents and parents may have left the reception. "Pony" is also on my list of most requested songs for the garter toss, should you decide to do that tradition at your wedding reception.

"Do Me" | Bell Biv Devoe
"Do Me" was the follow-up to "Poison" that made dance floors pretty darn hot in the summer of 1990 after it was released in June of that year.  I've thought that "Do Me" was always overshadowed by Poison, but it's equally as solid and would peak at #3 on the Hot 100 chart.

"Grind With Me" | Pretty Ricky
"Grind With Me" can be found on Pretty Ricky's debut album, Bluestars, released in 2005.  This debut single would make it all the way to Number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Wicked Game" | Chris Isaak
The music video for "Wicked Game" is easily one of the hottest music videos created in video history.  "Wicked Game" can be found on Chris Isaak's album Heart Shaped World. The song was released in the fall of 1990, but woud become one of the biggest songs of 1991. Be sure to check out my playlist of choices for the best songs of 1991 and you'll find that 1991 might be one of the best years of the 90s in music.

"Erotica" | Madonna
Simply put, Madonna wrote an album all about sex in 1992.  The title track "Erotica" would be the first single to be released back in the fall of 1992 and would peak at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"I'll Make Love To You" | Boys II Men
Boys II Men could do absolutely no wrong in the early - mid 1990s.  "I'll Make Love To You" can be found on their album || and would make it to Number 1 in 1994 and stay there for fourteen weeks.

"I Wanna Sex You Up" | Color Me Badd
And now we've the portion of this Charleston COVID19 quarantine playlist that covers the New Jack Swing genre of music from the early 90s.  Released in the spring of 1991, "I Wanna Sex You Up" would go all the way to Number 1 on the Hot R&B songs chart.

"Afternoon Delight" | Starland Vocal Band
And I thought the mid 70s were more squeaky clean than 2020! Not! I'm not sure I would let my kid listen to "Afternoon Delight" until after we've had "that talk".  Who knows how many "afternoon delights" the both of you will have during the great Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020.  The song was released in the spring of 1976 and "skyrocket" all the way to Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. No pun intended. :)

"Feel Like Makin' Love" | Bad Company
This song keeps us in the 70s category of music with one of the greatest vocalists ever in Paul Rodgers, with Bad Company. Bad Company forged a reputation during the 70s of producing straight-up rock and roll music, with a side of the blues.  Released in the summer of 1975, "Feel Like Makin' Love" would peak at #10 on the Billboard hot 100.

"You're Making Me High" | Toni Braxton
Whatever happened to the lovely and talented Toni Braxton? I'm not sure what she is doing today. She was all over the radio back in the early - mid 1990s.  I remember "You're Making Me High" blowing up all over the radio in the summer of 1996 as it was first single to drop from Toni's second record.

"She Bop" | Cyndi Lauper
"She Bop" was the third single to be released from Cyndi Lauper's breaking record, She's So Unusual back in 1983. "She Bop" was the follow-up to her ballad "Time After Time", and would peak at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

"Sex With Me" | Rihanna
"Sex With Me" was released on the 2016 album, Anti, and one of the bonus tracks you'd be getting when you purchased the deluxe edition of the CD. The song would barely chart on the Hot 100, but make it all the way to #1 on the Dance Club songs chart.

"Freak Me" | Silk
Silk had, in my humble opinion released one of the hottest, sexy R&B songs of the 90s. The song would be released back in February of 1993 and would spend 2 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100, and 8 weeks on the Hot R&B charts. Listen at your risk, this song is pretty hot.

"Smooth Operator" | Sade
Sade is so sexy that I published a post about 20 of the Sexy Smooth Sade Songs. "Smooth Operator" is definitely her signature song released in September of 1984. The song would make it all the way to Number 1 on the Adult contemporary charts. Be sure to check out my other post about Sade by clicking the link up above.

"Cream" | Prince
Released in the fall of 1991, "Cream" would be the first single to hit radio from Prince's album, Diamonds & Pearls. "Cream" would be the last time that Prince would have a Number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

"I Want Your Sex" | George Michael
All of a sudden it was 1987 and we were watching the Cosby Show and Family Ties, and we would have to wait until 10pm to see this video on MTV.  "I Want Your Sex" was a part of the Beverly Hills Cop 2 soundtrack and would become a smash hit for George Michael, despite receiving no daytime airplay on radio. The song would peak at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Love To Love You Baby" | Donna Summer
This next song on this Charleston Coronavirus quarantine playlist is from the queen if disco. It still pains me to say we lost her back in 2012. "Love To Love You Baby" was the title cut to the 1975 album and would peak at #2  on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as #1 on the Dance club chart.

"Sexual Healing" | Marvin Gaye
From the the 60s all the way up to the early 80s right before his untimely death, Marvin Gaye recorded and released so much great music. "Sexual Healing" became one of his signature 80s songs that some  modern brides and grooms may request toward the end of the night at your reception.

"I'm A Slave 4 U" | Britney Spears
You can find "I'm A Slave 4 U" on Britney Spears' 2001 album, Britney. Released right after 9/11, the song would break into the Top 30 on the Hot 100, but peak at #4 on the Dance Club Songs chart.

"Closer" | Nine Inch Nails
This next song takes us back to the tremendous alternative music scene of the 90s.  "Closer" was released in the spring of 1994 and would peak at #11 on the Alternative charts later that year.  WARNING: Explicit lyrics on this one.

"Side to Side" | Ariana Grande Feat. Nicki Minaj
What do you get when you put Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj in the same music video? The answer to that question would be your NEW guilty pleasure. "Side To Side" was a late summer release back in 2016 and would peak at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

"Naughty Girl" | Beyonce
"Naughty Girl" was the last song to chart from Beyonce's first album, Dangerously In Love. The song would peak at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 2004.

"Touch Me (I Want Your Body)" | Samantha Fox
This next song on this ultimate Coronavirus Quarantine Playlist comes from the lovely and talented British born, Samantha Fox. Her album, Touch Me would peak at #24 on the Billboard 200.

"Future Sex / Love Sounds" | Justin Timberlake
The title track to Timberlake's second album is a perfect add to this playlist to get you through the Coronavirus Quarantine here in the Holy City.  While this is a very sexy and sultry single, it did not chart on the Hot 100, as it was "Sexy Back" that was released and would become an instant signature song for Justin Timberlake.

"Secret" | Madonna
Any song that is featured on an album called Bedroom Stories could be fair game to be added into this quarantine playlist. You should take at Madonna's entire track listing for Bedroom Stories. "Secret" was released in the fall of 1994 and would peak at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. If you are interested in more Madonna, check out this link for my choices of the 80s Madonna Songs And More.

"Too Close" | Next
Thw 28th song on this Coronavirus quarantine playlist will have you kicking it 90s old-school R&B.  "Too Close" was released in the fall of 1997 and would top the Hot 100 charts, as well as the R&B charts.

"Let Talk About Sex" | Salt & Pepa
Back in the late summer of 1991, you couldn't turn your radio on without hearing this classic by the ladies of Salt & Pepa.  "Let's Talk About Sex" would sample the 70s classic "I'll Take You There" by the Staple Singers and would peak at #6 on the Hot Dance Club charts. "Let's Talk About Sex" was the follow-up to another sexy song, "Do You Want Me".

"Earned It" | The Weeknd
We wrap up this wonderful Coronavirus quarantine playlist with a song from the movie soundtrack of Fifty Shades Of Grey. The song was released in the latter part of December 2014 in preparation for the movie release in February of 2015. "Earned It" would top out at #3 on the Hot 100 chart.

Honorable Mention
"Sexual" | Goddess
Back in the early 90s, there was a tremendous amount of European eurodance music making it to America and making it to Top 40 radio.  "Sexual" peaked at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the latter part of 1992.

Stay Safe And Shelter In Place
At the time of publishing of this post, there is a tremendous amount of talk about some type of statewide or national lockdown to try to keep everyone from spreading COVID 19 (should they have it). I can think of no way better than sitting back with someone you are absolutely crazy about and having this playlist playing in the background and forgetting about the CoronaVirus. What Coronavirus?  The city of Charleston has come to a grinding halt (no pun intended), but I'm optimistic that we will emerge on the other side as an even stronger city.  While this type of playlist is a departure from my normal wedding repertiore of blog posts, it's my belief that we need some love, and better yet some fun in our lives.  Please do not get offended at the content of this playlist. George Michael put it perfectly. "Sex is natural, sex is fun and sex is best when it's one on one". DISCLAIMER.  Just make sure before you listen to this playlist together that you are both well and are NOT showing any known symptoms. If you feel you are healthy, have it at and forget about this stupid quarantine.   If after this CoronaVirus crisis is over and you are in the hunt for one of the best wedding DJs in Charleston, please click HERE to fill out a contact form and tell me a little more about your big day. And if enough people listen to this playlist, we'll most likely have a large amount of beautiful boys and girls born at the wonderful hospitals around Charleston too. Stay safe, don't have too much fun, and I will talk to you later.

Professional and Creative

Mike was kind, courteous, professional, and creative! We thoroughly enjoyed working with him for our destination wedding at Folly Beach. We gave Mike minimal guidance and he caught on to our "style" quickly and efficiently. Our guests are still raving about the music selections, and how they were a great balance of new tracks and standards for everyone to enjoy.
