30 Best Garter Toss Songs For Your Wedding Playlist

10 December 2016

The garter toss is a part of your wedding reception that is steeped in tradition, but in recent years, it's popularity has dwindled. Perhaps it's because more modern brides and grooms find it cheesy, corny, or tacky. Maybe there are not a lot of single folks at your wedding? While some couples have "fun" performing this tradition at their wedding receptions, there are some who have approached me and let me it's not something they want to do. As one of Charleston's best wedding DJs, you'll want to check out this list of some of the most popular choices over the years for the garter toss should you decide you want a garter toss added to your wedding timeline.

Perhaps there won't be enough single guys there? Whatever your reason for proceeding with or not doing this tradition, it remains to be a fun, and usually performed at wedding receptions within 30-45 minutes after the dancing has begun. Enjoy this list of great songs that folks are using for the garter toss. Be sure to also find me on Spotify. You can find me as DJ Mike Bills. You can find this popular wedding playlist as well as others on there to help you design the best playlist for your wedding.  For those brides and grooms who like country music and who don't find this song offensive, "Save A Horse" (Ride A Cowboy) is a great choice.  Released back in 2004, the song would peak at #11 on the Hot Country chart, and does appear frequently on Do Not Play Lists.

Long before Lionel Richie had us singing "All Night Long", he was part of The Commodores singing about the absolute perfect looking woman on the dance floor.  "Brickhouse" meant that a lady had it all and was beautiful. The perfect song for your garter toss and the woman you love.
