We’ll split it up into 8 posts with 25 songs per post. This first post will cover songs 200 through 176. After Dion left the Belmonts back in 1961, he'd release "Runaround Sue". The song made such an impact that it made it to Rolling Stone's Greatest Songs Of All Time at #358.
"Feel This Moment" | Pitbull / Christina Aguilera
"Feel This Moment" was released back in the winter of 2013 and would become one of the most requested wedding songs of that year and season and continues to be a recurrent request on modern wedding playlist. The song would peak at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
"Like A Prayer" | Madonna
Ah yes, it does not take us long on this countdown to get to an 80s song. "Like A Prayer" was deemed a bit controversial when it was released in 1989, but would reach #1 on the Hot 100 after it's release in early March. "Counting Stars" | One Republic
"Counting Stars" would be released in the Summer of 2013 and would become one of the most popular songs from their third album, Native. The song would peak at #1 on the adult contemporary charts, and #2 on the Hot 100 chart.
"Starships" | Nicki Minaj
"Starships" was released back in the winter of 2012 and can be found on Nicki's album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The song would debut in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 and would become one of the greatest selling singles of all time.
"Rather Be" |Clean Bandit & Jess Glynne
Modern brides and grooms are definitely into their electronic music. "Rather Be" was released during the winter of 2014 and would peak at Number 1 on the Hot Dance Club charts, and the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"When A Man Loves A Woman" | Percy Sledge
If there was even a song that best described the love between bride and groom at a wedding reception, it would be this classic from Percy Sledge. While the song was latered by Michael Bolton in 1991, it's the Percy Sledge version that gets the most requests. "I Want You To Want Me" | Cheap Trick
I've always gotten a lot of requests for this song in recent years and it's the perfect rock song to get the crowd pumped up after dinner before all of the big time dancing begins. The song was released back in the fall of 1977, and would peak at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Right Round" | FloRida / Ke$ha
Back in 2009, Ke$ha teamed with FloRida and recorded "Right Round". It was the first single to be released off his album R.O.O.T.S, and he would score a #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as the Mainstream Top 40 chart.
"Grease Megamix" | Olivia Newton John / John Travolta
As the video of Grease was released at the end of 1990, the Grease Megamix was put out and in 1996, you could find the song on a Pure Disco and as a result, radio stations began to play it and the song would peak at #12 on the mainstream Top 40 chart.
"All Summer Long" | Kid Rock
Back in 2008, Kid Rock would release his album Rock & Roll Jesus. "All Summer Long" would feature a mashup between Warren Zevon and Lynryrd Skynrd. (Werewolves of London) and (Sweet Home Alabama). "Let's Get It On" | Marvin Gaye
Interesting fact. This classic Motown song was the Number 1 song in America on the day I was born. I'll let you do the research on this so you can figure out my birthday, but this song is perfect to slow things down as we get closer to wrapping up your wedding reception. "Then" | Brad Paisley
For those modern brides and grooms who are into their country will probably add this song into their playlist, and might even choose this for their first dance song. "Then" was released in the spring of 2009 and would eventually top the Hot Country charts.
"What Makes You Beautiful" | One Direction
Boy bands on your wedding playlist? Do not knock it until you've tried it. :) This first single released from their debut album has been a popular request in recent years. You can find it on the album, Up All Night. The song would peak at #4 on the Hot 100, and top the Dance Club chart.
"Poker Face" | Lady Gaga
"Poker Face" was released in the fall of 2008 and is the follow-up to her smash hit "Just Dance". "Poker Face" would peak at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as the Dance Club Songs chart.
"On The Floor" | Jennifer Lopez / Pitbull
"On The Floor" was released as the first single from J-Lo's album Love? released in 2011. The song features Pitbull and would peak at Number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and also #1 on the Dance Club chart.
"Take On Me" | A-Ha
As an experienced wedding DJ whose forte is the music of the 80s, I am here to tell you that you cannot go wrong by adding music from the 80s to your wedding playlist. "Take On Me" is one of the most requested 80s song. Originally released in 1984, the song was re-released in 1985 and would peak at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Wanted" | Hunter Hayes
Back in the fall of 2011, Hunter Hayes would release his self titled album. "Wanted" would be the second song to be released to radio in March of 2012. The song would peak at #1 on the Hot Country chart, and cross over to the Top 40 charts and peak at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"All You Need Is Love" | The Beatles
The Beatles are still heavy favorites by modern brides and grooms. "All You Need Is Love" is easily in the Top 5 for Beatles songs requests. "All You Need Is Love" was released in the summer of 1967 and would top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
"Mr. Brightside" | The Killers
Back in the fall of 2003, The Killers would release this first single released in advance off their album Hot Fuss. "Mr Brightside" would become a popular choice for last song of the night. The song would break into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and peak at #3 on the Alternative chart.
"Honey Bee" | Blake Shelton
In 2011, Blake Shelton would release his album Red River Blue. "Honey Bee" would be the first single to be released from the album and became a cake cutting song for those modern brides and grooms who are into country music. "Honey Bee" would peak at #1 on the Hot Country chart.
"Ignition" Remix | R. Kelly
The perfect song for any wedding DJ to throw toward the end of the night to keep the party going. "Ignition (Remix)" was released in the fall of 2002 from R. Kelly's album Chocolate Factory. The song would peak at #1 on the Rhythmic chart, and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Come Away With Me" | Norah Jones
There aren't too many wedding playlists that are devoid of Norah Jones. "Come Away With Me" has also been used for wedding ceremonies and is also perfect for dinner time at your reception. "Come Away With Me" would peak at #21 on the Adult Top 40 chart.
"Summer" | Calvin Harris
Calvin Harris released his album Motion and "Summer" would be the second track to be released to radio. "Summer" would peak at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Love Me Like You Do"| Ellie Goulding
Released in advance of the movie Fifty Shades Of Gray, "Love Me Like You Do" debuted on radio in early 2015. The song would peak at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #1 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart.
