Tasha & Jeremy - Wedding & Reception At Somerset Pointe

17 October 2012

Even doing a Google Search on Somerset Pointe, there was very little information about it.  It actually wasn't until the day before their wedding (October 12th) that I got to drive up and check out the area and venue. Just the drive up to rural Berkeley County will make you relax and as you approach the lake, it's like serenity after a long day.

Somerset Pointe is the "road less traveled" when it comes to a venue for a wedding in the Charleston, SC area because it's privately owned by Santee Cooper. Only employees and families of Santee Cooper can use this facility. If you live in the Moncks Corner and/or Berkeley County and are seeking a great venue, I highly recommend you getting to know someone who works for Santee Cooper so you can experience the serenity of Somerset Pointe for your wedding day.

When I arrived and was setting up on that Saturday afternoon, the sky was overcast but it didn't really look like rain, just a pleasant October day.

The ceremony was scheduled to began around 6pm, so at the request of the bride, I played a small set of adult contemporary artists to set the mood for the upcoming ceremony.

"Just A Kiss" - Lady Antebellum

"Greatest Love Of All" - Whitney Houston

"Truly, Madly, Deeply" - Savage Garden

"Have I Told You Lately" - Van Morrison

"I Won't Give Up" - Jason Mraz

"Bless The Broken Road" - Rascal Flatts

"Stand By Me" - Ben E. King

PROCESSIONAL SONG:

Tallywood String Quartet covering the old Cure song "Love Song". This song was also covered by 311

RECESSIONAL SONG:

"I Got You" - Craig Morgan

FIRST DANCE:

"God Gave Me You" - Blake Shelton

ANNIVERSARY DANCE:

"Can't Help Falling In Love" - Elvis Presley

Something to add about the anniversary dance. The bride's grandparents were the last one's dancing on the dance floor at the end of this dance. They are getting ready to celebrate FIFTY ONE years together.
