Charleston Wedding Venue Spotlight | The New Thomas Hall

07 July 2017

As an established professional wedding vendor in and around the Charleston area, I am always watching out for venues for couples to get married. I am also finding it more and more important to reach out to wedding venues and spread the word about my company. Upon a check of my Instagram feed this past week (mikebills_charlestonweddingdj), I discovered what will quickly became one of the area's favorite venues to get married and one that I will LOVE to play at. I reached out to the Thomas's and set up an appointment for early Friday on this very hot July day. Let this blog post serve to increase the buzz about the exclusive and private Thomas Hall Events venue.

On my drive out this afternoon, I put in 1185 Hughes Road in my GPS and on the way out there I was thinking to myself that I knew I had been out to Hughes Road before. By the time I turned onto Hughes Road, I realized I had been there before. My Deja vu was justified. Hughes Road is actually where the popular Lakehouse At Bulow is located. However, you'll pass the Lakehouse At Bulow and go all the way to the end of Hughes Road. At the end of Hughes Road is the entrance to the 130 acre piece of property owned by Bill & Coy Thomas. Enter Thomas Hall.  There is a beautiful Charkeston brick entrance with an black iron gate.  See below for the beautiful entrance.

Upon passing this beautiful entrance, you will drive down the gravel road and veer to the left and reach the breathtaking home of Bill & Coy. While their home is off limits during events, brides and grooms who book with Thomas Hall have access to the grounds, which back up to the beautiful marsh.

In order to book this exclusive and private new wedding venue on John's Island, brides and grooms MUST employ a professional wedding planner. Have no fear though, the Thomas' have a preferred vendors list on their website that features some of the best wedding planners in the Charleston area.

Thomas Hall Wedding Ceremony Location

Did you envision your outdoor wedding ceremony to be located beneath a centuries old oak tree that backs up the marsh with a hint of that Lowcountry pluff mud? And might I add a beautiful breeze was felt out there today even on one of the hottest summer days.

Thomas Hall Wedding Sunset Dock Johns Island

This rather lengthy dock heads out into the John's Island marsh facing west, so I anticipate there will be a TON of photographers grabbing that killer set of sunset photos. So, when you pick your date, look online to see what time the sun is going to set on your wedding day and let your planner and photographer know you want to grab some pictures.

Imagine if you will, a cooler October or November afternoon and early evening with a possible oyster roast for your cocktail hour? I think this part of Thomas Hall would be absolutely perfect for that. I found myself thinking about those cooler October and November weekends as I was sweating out there today.

The tide was low at the time of my visit but this little creek could lead into the harbor for a possible grand send off at the end of your wedding reception. It's just a thought, but you'd need to time your exit perfectly when the tide is in.
