5 Choices For A Wonderful Charleston, SC Beach Wedding Ceremony & Reception
As one of the best Charleston wedding DJs, I've personally seen first hand Charleston, SC catapult over the past 5 + years to become one of the top wedding destinations in the country. Aside from it's many famous plantations and it's romantic and historic downtown venues which act as beautiful backdrops, the close proximity to water also makes Charleston a huge draw for destination couples looking for a beautiful beach wedding. You don't have to sacrifice elegance just because you've decided to have a beach wedding in Charleston. Charleston's temperate climate makes planning a wedding during any of the 12 months a possibility when choosing a date for your most special day. While Charleston's locals may think an average high of 60 in January might be too cool, that temperature would be perfect for a couple coming from Chicago or Philadelphia or New York City. If you decide to do a beach wedding in Charleston, you'll still be fairly close to downtown so you can do all the romantic things like take a rickshaw down the street, take a carriage ride down it's famous cobblestone streets, and then grab dinner at one of it's finest restaurants. After you choose the location for your beach wedding in Charleston, I'll sit down with you and we'll start planning a "beach wedding soundtrack". Whether you decide to keep it small and get married at a summer getaway beach house or one of Charleston's luxurious beach resorts, you'll want to read on to check out some of these beautiful Lowcountry beach wedding options.
Private Summer Getaway | Beach House
Folly Beach is the closest beach to downtown Charleston and offers numerous choices for a front beach house rental for your wedding. I've actually seen couples getting married at a church in downtown Charleston, and then relocate the bridal party and guests out to a rental home for the wedding reception. Some couples opt for a wedding ceremony right on the beach and then walk right back to their rental home for great food and drink and dancing. Depending on the size of your bridal party and guest list, you might consider renting a few homes adjacent to where your wedding reception would be held. In the event you choose to get married at a private beach house on Folly, the Tides Hotel on Folly could be an option where your guests could also stay.
