Luciana & Ty: At Lovely Wachesaw Plantation | Charleston Wedding DJ Road Trip

10 November 2018

As one of the top Charleston wedding DJs, it tends to be a pretty rare occurrance that I leave the greater Charleston area for a wedding.  While I've been known to travel up the Carolina coast to Georgetown and Myrtle Beach, as well as south along the coast to Beaufort and Hilton Head, I tend to stay in Charleston, as that's where most of my clients are having their weddings. This was until earlier this year.  :) Luciana & Ty had contacted me earlier this year about being the DJ for their wedding ceremony and reception up in Murrell's Inlet.  Murrell's Inlet is about 97 miles from my home, and roughly 15 miles from the downtown area of Myrtle Beach.  In some of my first correspondance with Luciana, she said she had read over my blog and really liked some of the content I had produced.  With as hard as I work on this content, I was completely tickled by her words about my blog.  Up until this point, I might have only had one compliment on my blogging, and actually back when that occurred, I was not nearly as active as I am now.  What's that old saying? "Flattery will get you everywhere." I think that's how that saying goes. Well, flattery got me to drive all the way up to Wachesaw Plantation for Luciana & Ty.   Be sure to read on to see how their beautiful wedding ceremony went outside on a crisp November day up against the Waccamaw River, as well as their very fun wedding reception with a lot of dancing.

Back in June,  I did a featured blog post that showcased the very gorgeous Wachesaw Plantation. Honestly, one of the big reasons that my reputation as being one of the best Charleston wedding DJs has grown so stellar is because of my focus on being thorough and prepared for each and every wedding that I am hired for.  Part of being "thorough" mean checking out wedding venues that I have not been to, even if they are located close to 100 miles away.  I could not imagine traveling close to 100 miles away to unfamiliar territory without knowing what I am up against from a logistical standpoint. In the days leading up to Luciana & Ty's special day,  I made a list of every technical issue that could arise (being 97 miles away). I checked, rechecked and checked that list again to ensure that everything would be smooth for their big day.

194 Mile Roundtrip Site Survey For Peace Of Mind
On a Friday afternoon back in June, I drove up lovely Highway 17 to not only see the wedding venue, and to meet the wedding coordinator out Wachesaw, but I also got to meet Luciana.  I do believe it's best for any travel professional wedding DJ to try to meet their couples beforehand, as the DJ / wedding entertainment is one of the most important parts of their wedding day and the couple should want to meet them.  Even for the destination couple's, I try to steal a few minutes with them the week that they come into town, just to introduce myself in person.

Your Charleston Wedding DJ Should Create A Stress-Free Day For You
My trip up to Wachesaw Plantation back in June alleviated so many stressers I had before I had seen the venue. I got to get a layout of the land. I got to see where the power hookups would be for the ceremony, and where I would be set up inside for the reception. I also got to see if any additional sound would be required seeing there would be guests socializing outside for the cocktail hour. And more importantly, I got to meet the bride. So, the 194 mile roundtrip was well worth the time to invest further in this wedding in making sure there would be no surprises when I pulled up to Wachesaw Plantation on the afternoon of November 3rd. And as I write this post, I remember back to my days as a Boy Scout and how the Scout motto still is firmly in my mind. "Be Prepared" , if you don't know is the Scout Motto and the only way to be when you are a professional wedding DJ in Charleston.
