Merry Christmas From One Of Charleston's Top Wedding DJs
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the beautiful Holy City Of Charleston, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that Saint Nichoias would soon be there. There are probably so many beautiful couples sitting by the fireplace all curled up with one another with visions of engagement dancing in their heads. But I digress, let me introduce you to Matthew & Jennifer. Matthew & Jennifer are a couple here to celebrate their love from Chicago in the Holy City at the Luxurious Dewberry Hotel. Jennifer had gone to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and had spent many years in Charleston and knew the immense charm and romance that Charleston had to offer. It was a Christmas Eve Evening and Matthew & Jennifer had just gotten back to the hotel after an early dinner and were enjoying the mild Charleston evening by looking out their luxury hotel window.
All of a sudden, Matthew arose from his romantic holiday embrace with Jennifer to check out the "clatter" outside the hotel and across the street at Marion Square. The evening was rather active with couples and families, as well as children trying to get their Christmas selfies made by the Christmas tree. Matthew saw the Christmas tree all lit up, as well as one young lady who was laughing very loudly and being chased around the field around Marion Square by her boyfriend. How romantic could that be? It was a guy and his girlfriend being playful on Christmas Eve. All of a sudden, they stopped as she tripped and fell, and he gingerly landed on top of her. They held each other in a romantic embrace with their eyes all aglow. He was telling her how much he wanted to spend the rest of her life with her. After a few minutes, he pulled out this small box, which later was found to be an engagement ring, and he proposed to her. After she said "yes", they both got up and were seen running and frolicking around the field with joy until they stopped under the Christmas tree, took a selfie and uploaded a photo of her new ring to her Facebook and Instagram. She said yes.
These events all happened within about 15 minutes of Matthew walking out to the balcony to chekc on seeing what all the noise had been. Matthew thought about his love for Jennifer during that 15 minutes after he pretty knew what had just transpired down on the field at Marion Square. He then Jennifer's voice. "Matthew, honey is there anything wrong? Matthew replied. "No, honey, nothing is wrong. A matter of fact everything is right with the world." Later that evening, Matthew and Jennifer got engaged shortly before the clock struck midnight. What will your engagement story be like this holiday season? We've reached that truly magical time of the year between Christmas and the end of the year where there will be a whole slew of engagements. It's a wonderful time of the year to be in love. Enough about me being your wedding DJ for the time being. :) Let's talk more about the love between you and your future / current fiance. Christmas weddings are pretty rare, but if they did occur, I'd create a cocktial hour and dinner playlist that has a very warm and cuddly jazzy texture. If you are in Charleston right now, and just said "yes", congratulations and thank you for visiting my website and blog. I've worked very hard to keep the content on my website and blog the freshest possible and will continue to work toward that same goal in 2018. We're only about an hour away from Christmas Day. Take a listen to these Christmas jazz selections before you turn in this evening. Merry Christmas!
It Came Upon A Midnight Clear | Frank Sinatra
There couldn't be a Christmas jazz playlist without the one and only Frank Sinatra. I love this version of this Christmas classic.
What Are You Doing New Years Eve | Diana Krall
Nothing says Christmas Jazz like the lovely and talented Diana Krall. Her voice is so sexy and smooth. I am looking forward to her coming to Charleston in February at the Gaillard Center.
I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm | Billie Holiday
One of the earlier feamle jazz musicians, whose career spanned about 30 years. Her last album was release din 1958 and was called "Lady In Satin". Billie's voice was as smooth as satin. Enjoy this track.
"Merry Christmas Darling" | The Carpenters
Having a Christmas jazz playlist without The Carpenters on it would be the equivalent of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the peanut butter. Kare Carpenter's voice just screams Christmas warmth and romance. Take a listen for yourself.
"My Favorite Things" | Tony Bennett
Recorded in 1968 on The Tony Bennett Christmas Album, this is a bit of a lively version of this Christmas classic.
"Driving Home For Christmas" | Chris Rea
Released right before the Christmas of 1988, it's a song that re-entered the chart hitting number 33, and a new high of Number 20 in 2017. Take a listen down below.
