She started designing a bridesmaid line (LulaKate) in 2003 named after her great-grandmother (Lula) and Katherine (Kate). March 16, 2016 was one of those perfect Charleston, spring days that turned into an even more perfect evening for cocktails and bites, while watching some of Kate McDonalds wonderful designs. The fashion show began at 6:30pm after a brief welcome by the editor of Charleston Weddings Magazine, Melissa Bigner. With a soundtrack set to the talented Leon Bridges, spectators enjoyed the lovely bridal designs of Kate McDonald Bridal. Brides to be, along with their friends and numerous other Charleston Wedding industry creatives were to present to see the amazing designs of Kate McDonald.
