All New Top Ten Thursdays | Charleston Wedding DJ Playlist

30 November 2017

Happy Holidays to all my prospective brides and grooms! Where on Earth did 2017 go? It seems like just yesterday it was January 1 and we were just days away in getting ready and prepared for the inaugural Charleston Wedding Week. Tomorrow is December 1 and you cannot seem to go anywhere without hearing any Christmas music. We'll do a "best-of" Christmas blog post as we get a little closer to the big day so I can spotlight some of my Christmas favorites here at Mike Bills Entertainment.  Are you already a little burned out on hearing  those Christmas tunes? It seems like the moment we take off our Halloween costumes, we immediately reach for the mistletoe and skip over Thanksgiving all together. All this while temperatures are between 75 and 80 degrees in November. For me personally, I like a nice mixture of the traditional and contemporary Christmas songs, but let's wait a few more weeks before I go all out.

If you are a little burned out on Christmas music, then I do welcome you to an new feature that you'll begin to see each and every Thursday. "The All New Top Ten Thursdays" will the feature the 10 biggest and hottest contmeporary hit radio (Top 40 tunes) that are currently heating up the dance floors at Charleston weddings on these cooler December evenings at wedding venues all around the Holy City. You can also expect some sneak peek and bonus tracks about hot trending songs that are expected to cause even more heat in the coming weeks and months on Lowcountry dance floors.

"Camila Cabello" | Havana
You probably know Camila from the girl group Fifth Harmony, which she exited back in 2016.  "Havana" is the first single from her album due out soon, and also features vocals from rapper Young Thug. I'm not sure about you, but singing about "Havana" makes me think of some warm, tropical weather, great Cuban food and a fine cigar on the side.

"Thunder" | Imagine Dragons
This was the second single to be released from their latest album "Evolve" back in the spring of 2017.  The remix features K Flay.

"Feel It Still" | Portugal. The Man
This band will be in Atlanta on Friday night (December 1st) at the Roxy, and then they move down to Tampa, FL on Saturday and Sunday. "Feel It Still" has a beautiful beat to it, and I've ordered their latest album and look forward to seeing what else is going to break in the next few months.

"What Lovers Do" | Maroon 5
The third song to be released from their sixth album "Red Pill Blues" features R&B singer Sza and this song really bounces. It hit the charts as a late summer add (right before Labor Day) and is now all the way up to Number 4 and won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

"Sorry Not Sorry" | Demi Lovato
She'll be at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta on December 15. The sultry Demi Lovato has another hot hit that is sure to heat up some of the dance floors at Charleston weddings as we round out 2017 and charge ahead into 2018. Take a look at the video down below and watch the party.

"Bad At Love" | Halsey
This was the second single from her latest album "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom". It hit the charts back in August and comes in at Number 6 on the Top Ten this week.

"1-800-273-8255" | Logic
A song by Logic, which actually is the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The song also features guest vocals from Alessia Cara and Khalid.  The song jumped all the way into the Top 10 after it was performed on the MTV Music Awards calls increased by 50% to the hotline.

"Perfect" | Ed Sheeran
The third single from his album (Divide) after "Castle On The Hill" and "Shape Of You". Maybe you were lucky enough to see Ed Sheeran when he came to Charleston back in September? Look for another remix of this song with Beyonce due out in the next few days. This version is a beautiful, new modern slow song to play at your Charleston wedding reception down at the Historic Rice Mill or the Daniel Island Club

9. "Too Good At Goodbyes" | Sam Smith
"The Thrill of It All" is the name of his 2nd studio album, and this is the first single that dropped to Spotify back on September 8.  It topped the UK charts just about a week after it's release.

10. "Ready For It" | Taylor Swift
"Reputation" is the name of her highly anticipated album that was just released back on November 10.  I actually went to the record store, a daily to see where it was. :) Her sixth album has received so much teasing on You Tube and social media that we practically knew every track by the time we went to buy the CD. Photographs surfaced of Taylor Swift herself going to Target to buy her own CD and hanging out with fans.

TOP 10 Urban / Rap Tracks
SOME VIDEOS MAY CONTAIN EXPLICIT LYRICS, BUT ALL SONGS PLAYED DURING EVENTS WILL HAVE CLEAN LYRICS
1. "Rockstar" | Post Malone

2. "No Limit" | G-Eazy

3. "Tone It Down" | Gucci Mane

4. "Bodak Yellow" | Cardi B

5. "The Weekend" | Sza

6. "Love" | Kendrick Lamar
