What Will Be Remembered About Your Special Day

It bears mentioning in yet another blog entry that more and more guests tend to remember the entertainment that was at your wedding. With that being said, it's even more important to hire the right DJ and / or musician and band.  A year after your wedding your guests will likely not be able to recall the food they ate, but the entertainment (if exceptional) will leave an indelible mark on them that will get them to crack a smile and maybe even send you a text or email letting you know they were thinking about your wedding night.

Brides and grooms have spoken after their weddings in Charleston and have admitted they would have spent more time and even more money on their DJ / entertainer. For those couples who opted for a band, most say they would have scrapped the band idea for an exceptional discjockey. 

At least 85%, if not more of the success of the wedding reception comes from the DJ. With that being said, wouldn't it make the most sense to channel more of your budget into ensuring you have the right DJ in control of your night? After all, this is one of the single most important days of your life.  The best price is not always the best deal. Shop around.  If you don't like the DJ's that your planner / coordinator send you, by all means check out others. 

A true professional DJ will often invest numerous hours of time into your event prior to arriving at the venue even though it looks like they come and set up for 4 or 5 hours.  A true professional DJ will take a vested interest in the success of the night and in order to do that will perform consultations with the bride and groom to pose questions on musical taste. Also, these consultations can be used to allow the bride and groom to get comfortable witht their DJ. After all, the pressure is on for them to perform and make your night the best it possibly can be.

Always meet your DJ. Do they have exceptional reviews? Do they have a professionally designed website? These are all important factors in DJ selection. Be sure you make the right decision on your DJ.
